Tnau online counseling is an admission process to give bsc agricultural sheats for qualified students. If you want to get a BSE agriculture course inside Tamilnadu college you have to attend the tnau 2021 online counseling. Tnau 2021 counseling is conducted by Tamilnadu agricultural university. There is no entrance exam or interview for this admission procedure. TNAU admission is based on the hsc marks only. IIAT Campus Details

This college is situated in Thuraiyur-Namakwa Highway.six kilometers away from Thuraiyur Municipality. The college is well connected by roads and the nearest railway station is at Tiruchirappalli, which is 50 km. from Thuraiyur. The nearby airport is at Tiruchirappalli.
Thuraiyur lies between 11.170 North latitude and 78.620East longitude with an attitude of 85M above MSL. The mean maximum temperature is 40.20C and mean minimum is 15.00 C. The district receives a to talannualrainfall of 626.4 mm. The college has an area of 55.31 hectares (138.29 acres). Inspire, Knowledge and Achieve its MOTTO. This college provides the most popular Agri course B.Sc (Hons) Agriculture course, It is a four-year course, this college is affiliated to the Tamilnadu agriculture university in Coimbatore. the syllabus and the semester exams are all based as per the TNAU.

Eligibility

Group I: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology
Group II: Physics, Chemistry and Biology with a fourth (elective) subject of any relevant science having marks (not Grades).
Group II (A): Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology.

Admission Procedure

B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture / B.Sc. (Agriculture) 120Students . 65% Students will be admitted through TNAU single window system and remaining 35% will be admitted by the management adopting the TNAU eligibility norms. The candidate should register online in the TNAU admission website and should obtain a ranking for consideration in admission even under management quota.

Curriculum and Syllabus

The Curriculum and Syllabi prescribed by the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) is followed for the Undergraduate degree programme without any deviation. students admitted during 2017-18 follow the 2017 syllabus. Hostels

A residential facility for boys and girls are separately available for the students of this college. Both the hostels are provided with all basic and modern supporting facilities like Electric water heaters, TV set, water coolers, RO plant, generators, Wi-Fi connectivity, communication facilities and reading room etc.

Classrooms and laboratories

Sufficient number of class rooms is available with audio-visual aids for effective teaching. All the departments have well-equipped laboratories for conducting practical classes. All lecture halls are identical, very spacious and gallery type. All lecture halls are well equipped with public address system, LCD projector with screen, window curtains, podium and good lighting facility. The halls can accommodate 120 students easily. All lecture halls are granite topped and the raised platform facilitate the teacher to closely monitor the students and the learners also have the accessibility of looking at the speaker without any exertion.

Computer Laboratory

The campus has one richly equipped computer laboratory accessible to the students during the college hours with advanced infrastructure in terms of hardware and software to cater to the requirements of the students, teachers and the curriculum. The laboratory caters to students’ Basic MS office package, Typing master, SPS , SE, AGRES (Economics & Statistics Purpose) etc.
Each computer is upgraded frequently and has high-speed internet access. Computer lab is equipped with a whiteboard for making learning interactive and innovative. The lab keeps the students well versed with the latest technology; all the computers are updated with latest software versions. Its information technology based learning solutions, e-resources and high speed internet connectivity over 4mbps are useful instruments for enlarging students overall knowledge and perspectives.

LAN

The building wide computer network – Computer Lab, faculty rooms, Library, Administration and Section Office are connected to the WIFI, through high speed Routers.

Environmental Sciences& Biochemistry Laboratory

This is an introductory laboratory; it is well furnished with10 tables in black granite top podium. Typically, over 50 students accommodate for this laboratory. This lab should preferably be taken the Environmental Science and Biochemistry practical class. Each lab section contains nearly 35 students. Spacious staff room and storage room are also available in this lab. This laboratory has been equipped with sufficient number of equipment, glassware and chemicals required to conducting UG Environmental Sciences and Biochemistry classes.
Nature of work for this laboratory is focuses on environmental issues such as climate variation, atmospheric pollution and non-point-source water pollution. In our laboratory I handled two courses for under Graduate students.

Plant breeding and Genetics lab

Plant Breeding and Genetic laboratory has a floor area of 1080 sq.ft. In this laboratory fifty students at a time will be accommodated to utilize through well suited granite desk with modernized lab equipment along with good ventilation.
This laboratory is attached with a staff room and a separate storage room used for storing the instrument, glass wares and chemicals. Our laboratory has equipped with student projection microscope, Binocular light microscopes, compound microscope and dissection microscope with adequate chemicals and glassware. Students are encouraged to use this laboratory to gain knowledge through experiments, which enables the students to become the expert in a clear-cut manner.

Microbiology Laboratory

Laboratory has been furnished with wooden tables (10 nos) and SS adjustable lab Stool (40 nos) to accommodate 40 students at a time. This lab is also well refreshed with lightings& fan facility. Separate faculty lounge and store room are attached to monitor the students and store chemicals and lab kits

Plant Pathology Laboratory

Plant Pathology is one among the division under department of Plant Protection at IIAT. There is a separate lab for plant pathology studies at our campus. The laboratory is adequately furnished with ten numbers of large wooden tables and seating facility for the students and Separate faculty room is attached to monitor the students, chemicals are also being stored. The lab is scientifically equipped with ample numbers of light microscopes which can be used during observation of dissected specimens.
Microscopic slides are also being maintained several plant Pathogens. Laminar air flow chamber, Hot air oven and autoclave are kept and used for culture maintenance and sterilization purposes.

Agricultural Entomology Laboratory

Agricultural Entomology is one among the divisions under the department of Plant Protection at IIAT. A separate laboratory has been maintained to handle all the entomology related courses. The entomology laboratory is furnished with 10 numbers of huge teak wooden tables with regulating seating facility to the students. It is well fitted with lighting and fan. In addition to it, a staff room and store room is also attached to the laboratory to monitor the students and to store the chemicals and lab instruments.
In our laboratory, five insect display boards and multiple bio – visual charts are available for reference. More than two hundred insect collection boxes and hundred and twenty insect collection nets are available in our laboratory for students’ usage during the course of study.
Different types of traps, sprayers and chemicals are also being maintained for emergency calls and for practical handling of students. Simple microscope for dissection, light microscope, binocular microscope and stereo zoom microscopes for observation and magnified viewing of the specimens. Insect dissection set and insect killing bottles are also available for students’ usage during practical hours.
Students gain the knowledge about the taxonomic characters of insects, beneficial and harmful nature of insects and its effect on agro-ecosystem. They are also being taught about major pests in field and horticultural crops and also to recognize and control them.

Audio Visual (AV) Laboratory

The Audio Visual laboratory is having all the essential facility like LCD projector, advanced audio and video systems like public address system, DVD player and television. It can accommodate 60 -70 students at a time.

Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry laboratory

The undergraduate laboratory of the Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry are well equipped for carrying out analyzing soil, plant, water, manure, and fertilizer analysis. Lab is connected with a staff room and a separate room is available for the instrument, storing chemicals and glassware.
Core soil sampler, screw auger, hydraulic rings & constant head hydraulic unit are available in the laboratory to study the different physical properties of soil. Nitrogen distillation unit, spectrophotometer, flame photometer are available to assess the soil available N, P, K & S.
To enrich the knowledge of students in soil surveying the lab is having the cadastral map. The laboratories are also having a good collection of rocks and mineral specimens for educational purpose.
The spacious and well-furnished laboratory can accommodate 36 undergraduate students at a time. The lab is also having a variety of soil which was collected from different farmers’ fields and at various locations to study the soil reaction & Soil colour using Munsell soil colour chart.

Plant Biotechnology and Plant Physiology Laboratory

This laboratory has been furnished with eight numbers of wooden tables and adequately supported with lab seats to accommodate 45-50 students. It is well fitted with advanced lab. Equipment and good lighting and aeration. The lab is attached with a staff room and a separate plant tissue culture room.

Food Science laboratory

Food Science laboratory fifty students at a time will be accommodated to utilize through well suited with modernized lab equipment along with good ventilation. This laboratory is attached to a staff room and a storage room used for storing the instrument, glassware, and chemicals. Our laboratory has equipped with student projection of physical and chemical characteristics of food samples with adequate chemicals and glassware. Students are encouraged to use this laboratory to gain knowledge through experiments.

Seed Science and Technology Laboratory

This laboratory is sufficiently gad got with advanced seed testing tools and equipment. It is well aerated and good air circulation system to provide a conducive learning environment to the students. The SSLT is also annexed with a faculty lounge and a storeroom for chemicals and equipment

Language Laboratory

The language laboratory is furnished with good quality tables & chairs and 45 numbers of cutting-edge technology supported computers with advanced packages and software systems for UG teaching. This laboratory is the recently developed one and each student is provided with a cubicle for stress-free learning atmosphere to students and faculty.

Green house, Glass-house and Poly-house

As a step to introduce a commercial approach in agriculture and horticulture, a demonstration cum research greenhouse/poly house unit has been constructed with irrigation facilities. The college has a greenhouse (1)and a mist chamber(1).

Facilities for sports, games

Keeping in view the importance of sports in today’s scientific era and its vitality in the shaping of an individual’s personality and health and fitness, the institute lays considerable emphasis on students’ participation in various games, sports, and track and field activities. The spacious grounds of the institute are laid out into playfields for Cricket, Football, Basketball, Volleyball, Lawn Tennis and Badminton, Kabaddi, Kho- Kho, and Indoor Games, etc., carrom board, chess, shuttle badminton, Table tennis, etc. Facilities have also been provided for Yoga, Multigym hall equipped with all modern scientific machines are available for the use of students.
