Define – Least count
The smallest length which can be measured by metre scale is called least count
If a man has a mass of 50 kg on the earth, then what is his weight?
Mass of the man (m) = 50 kg
g =9.8 m/s2
Weight = m x g
= 50 x 9.8
Weigh tof the man is 490 N

III. Write in detail.
Write any 5 Rules in writing SI Units and their Symbols.
- The unit names after sceientists are not written with a capital inital letter Eg Newton, henry, ampere and watt
- The symbols of the units named after sceintists should be written by the initial capital letter. Eg N for newton, H for hendry, A for ampere and W for watt
- Small letters are used as symbols for units not derived from a proper noun, Eg m for metre, kf for kilogram
- No full stop or other punctuation marks should be used within or at the end of symbols Eg 50 m and not as 50 m.
- The symbols of the units are not expressed in plural form Eg 10 kg not as 10 kgs
- Accepted symbols alon should be used, Eg ampere should not be written as amp and second should not be written as sec.
