Tamilnadu Teachers Eligibility Test (TNTET-2022) has been organized by the Tamilnadu Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB). Tamilnadu TNTET Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Educational Qualifications to write TNTET Paper-I

Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).

(or)

Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002.

(or)

Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.).

(or)

Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education).

(or)

Graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).

Structure and Content of TNTET

TNTET PAPER I – Structure of Syllabus

Child Development and Pedagogy (relevant to the age group of 6 – 11 years)	Child Development and Pedagogy will focus on Educational Psychology of Teaching and Learning, relevant to the age group of 6 – 11 years.
Language-I Tamil/Telugu/Malayalam/Kannada/Urdu	The language I will focus on the proficiencies related to the Medium of Instruction. The candidate has to choose any one of the languages mentioned in Sl.No.(ii) above in Paper-I table. For recruitment, process candidates shall be eligible for the vacancies in the concerned medium only.
Language II – English	Language II English will focus on the elements of language, communication and comprehension abilities
Mathematics	Mathematics and Environmental Studies will focus on the concepts, problem-solving abilities and pedagogical understanding of these subjects.
Environmental Studies	The questions in the TNTET Paper I will be based on the topics of the prescribed syllabus of the State for Classes I – V but their difficulty level as well as linkages will be up to the Secondary Stage.

TNTET PAPER I – Structure of Syllabus

Child Development and Pedagogy relevant to the age group of 11-14 years (Compulsory)	Child Development and Pedagogy will focus on Educational Psychology of Teaching and Learning, relevant to the age group of 11- 14 Years.
Language-I Tamil/Telugu/Malayalam/Kannada/ Urdu (Compulsory)	Language-I will focus on the proficiencies related to the medium of instruction. The candidate has to choose any one of the languages mentioned in Sl. No. (ii) above in Paper-II table. For the recruitment process, candidates shall be considered for the vacancies in the concerned medium only.
Language II – English (Compulsory)	Language II – English will focus on the elements of language, communication and comprehension abilities.
a) For Mathematics and Science Teachers: Mathematics and Science or b) For Social Science Teacher: Social Science or c) For Any other Subject Teacher either iv (a) or iv (b)	Mathematics and Science / Social Science will focus on the concepts, problem-solving abilities, and pedagogical understanding of these subjects. The questions in the test Paper-II will be based on the topics of the prescribed syllabus of the State for Classes VI-VIII but their difficulty level, as well as linkages, will be up to the Higher Secondary (Senior Secondary) Stage.
