Tamilnadu Teachers Eligibility Test (TNTET-2022) has been organized by the Tamilnadu Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB). The Tamilnadu Government has conducted the TNTET examination to fill the teacher’s vacancies through this competitive examination.Teachers need to qualify for TNTET to become a teacher in Primary schools, Junior High schools, Government Schools, and Government Aided Schools. Tamilnadu TNTET Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Educational Qualifications to write TNTET Paper-I

Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).

(or)

Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002.

(or)

Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.).

(or)

Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education).

(or)

Graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).

(or)

Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.,).

Graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).

Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.).

Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.), in accordance with the NCTE

circulated vide NCTE letter dated 11.02.2011, a person who is pursuing any of the teacher education courses (recognized by the NCTE or the RCI, as the case may be) specified in the NCTE Notification dated 23rd August 2010 is also qualified to appear in the TNTET

Structure and Content of TNTET

TNTET PAPER I – Structure of Syllabus

Child Development and Pedagogy
(relevant to the age group of 6 – 11 years)
Child Development and Pedagogy will focus on Educational Psychology
of Teaching and Learning, relevant to the age group of 6 – 11 years.
Language-I
Tamil/Telugu/Malayalam/Kannada/Urdu
The language I will focus on the proficiencies related to the Medium of
Instruction. The candidate has to choose any one of the languages
mentioned in Sl.No.(ii) above in Paper-I table. For recruitment, process
candidates shall be eligible for the vacancies in the concerned medium
only.
Language II – English Language II English will focus on the elements of language,
communication and comprehension abilities
MathematicsMathematics and Environmental Studies will focus on the concepts,
problem-solving abilities and pedagogical understanding of these subjects.
Environmental StudiesThe questions in the TNTET Paper I will be based on the topics of the
prescribed syllabus of the State for Classes I – V but their difficulty level
as well as linkages will be up to the Secondary Stage.

TNTET PAPER I – Structure of Syllabus

Child Development and Pedagogy
relevant to the age group of 11-14
years (Compulsory)
Child Development and Pedagogy will focus on Educational
Psychology of Teaching and Learning, relevant to the age group of 11-
14 Years.
Language-I
Tamil/Telugu/Malayalam/Kannada/ Urdu
(Compulsory)
Language-I will focus on the proficiencies related to the medium of
instruction. The candidate has to choose any one of the languages
mentioned in Sl. No. (ii) above in Paper-II table. For the recruitment
process, candidates shall be considered for the vacancies in the
concerned medium only.
Language II – English (Compulsory)Language II – English will focus on the elements of language,
communication and comprehension abilities.
a) For Mathematics and Science Teachers:
Mathematics and Science
or
b) For Social Science Teacher: Social Science
or
c) For Any other Subject Teacher either iv (a)

Mathematics and Science / Social Science will focus on the
concepts, problem-solving abilities, and pedagogical understanding of
these subjects.
The questions in the test Paper-II will be based on the topics of the
prescribed syllabus of the State for Classes VI-VIII but their difficulty
level, as well as linkages, will be up to the Higher Secondary
(Senior Secondary) Stage.
